Over the next two months, we will be working with your team to upgrade their Windows 10 PCs to Windows 11. Each staff member will be assigned a dedicated technician to guide them through the process. This upgrade is crucial as Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 after October this year, meaning no further security updates will be provided. By upgrading, your team will continue to receive important security patches.
Here’s what to expect:
- Minimal Disruption: The upgrade process will run in the background, so your staff can continue working without interruption. The only action required from your team will be to click on a button to accept the Microsoft license agreement. After that, the automated script will handle the rest.
- Restarting the PC: Once the upgrade is complete, your staff will be prompted to restart their PC. They will have a 30-minute window to save their work, complete tasks, and restart. They may also choose to restart later if they need more time.
- Windows 11 Installation: After the restart, Windows 11 will be fully installed. We understand that you want to minimize disruptions, so we have designed this upgrade to be as seamless and efficient as possible.
- Upgradable PCs: Not all computers are eligible for the upgrade due to Microsoft’s newer hardware requirements. PCs that do not meet these criteria will still function but will no longer receive security updates. For businesses unable to upgrade by October 2025, Microsoft is offering a paid extended support option for an additional year of security updates.
- Sustainable Solution: In line with our commitment to sustainability, Falcon IT Services has partnered with Educate Tomorrow, a charity that helps low-income students by providing them with PCs for educational purposes. If any of your PCs are not eligible for the Windows 11 upgrade, we can wipe them clean, install the Linux operating system and LibreOffice, and donate them to the charity at no additional cost. Alternatively, if you prefer, we can set up these PCs for your internal staff to use at home for personal and educational use. We can even add Steam and they can be used for stream gaming!
