Private cloud is a cloud infrastructure operated solely for a single organization, whether managed internally or by a third party, and hosted either internally or externally. Undertaking a private cloud project requires significant engagement to virtualize the business environment, and requires the organization to reevaluate decisions about existing resources.
Utilizing a private cloud within a data center allow businesses to keep hardware, operating systems and applications under the strict security controls of the organization while reducing or eliminating the possible catastrophic events associated with on-premise systems (i.e. hurricanes, power outages, etc.)
Private cloud infrastructure offers the benefits of redundant, virtualized environment usually associated with public clouds, albeit in a more private and enclosed ecosystem.
