From the Falcon IT Services Web site, click on the Nextcloud App from the Falcon Private Cloud menu and log in using your credentials. If you do not have credentials, contact the helpdesk to open a Falcon Private Cloud account. This will grant you acces to Nextcloud as well as to other Falcon Private Cloud hosted services.
Once logged in, the user interface is faitly simple. the + button will allow you to upload files, create folders and even create and edit documents to share.
You can select and upload multiple documents concurrently.
You can share single files or entire folders by selecting them, then clicking on the share link.
This will bring up the sharing options. Click the sharelink + icon to create a sharable link that can be sent by email.
Select a strong password and an expiration date for the shared link.
When finished, press enter or click on the right arrow icon.
Click on the clipboard to copy the link to your computer clipboard (copy link) or on the three dots to create additiona options for the shared link.
The (1) read-only link will allow the recipient to download or open the file. The allow uploading and editing (2) the recipient can edit the file and upload a new file using the link. The file drop option (3) will allow the recipient to upload files to the folder that you shared. You can also write a note (4) to the recipient by checking that option.
When finished, click on the clipboard to copy the link to your computer’s clipboard. Send the link to the recipient via Email, Chat or any means you choose by right clicking and selecting paste or pressing CTRL-V on your keyboard.
